Abstract: | Comparative study of Vietnamese and Korean corporate cultures is a topic of scientific and practical significance. Corporate culture (enterprise culture / business culture / organization culture), as a sub-culture, is inevitably linked to a national culture. Thus, a comparative study of Vietnamese and Korean corporate cultures can contribute to enlighten identities of two nations.Nowadays, Korea is a leading investor in Vietnam with over 2,800 active businesses. However, many Korean companies in Vietnam are not very successful in human relationship between Korean managers and Vietnamese staff. Understanding Vietnamese and Korean corporate cultures can contribute to promoting their cooperation. Besides of sharing many Oriental / East Asian basic similarities, Vietnamese and Korean organization cultures are different in many national characteristics.In this paper, we would like to analyze the similarities and differences between Korean and Vietnamese collectivism as one of basic dimensions of their organization cultures. Our paper aims to offer some suggestions for improving mutual understanding between Korean and Vietnamese staffs, improving business effect of Korean companies in Vietnam. |
