명사와 결합한 접두사의 사전적 고찰 -표준국어 대사전과 고려 한국어 대사전의 사례를 중심으로-

Abstract

In this paper, we conducted a survey on native Korean prefixes according to two Big Korean dictionaries to make a list of prefixes associated with nouns. By analyzing the 67 native Korean prefixes, we deduced the consistency of prefix definitions between the two dictionaries. Except for inconsistent prefixies: 'kal 갈-, kon 건 -, Kol 골 -, nut 늦 -, tta 따 -, maeng 맹 - 살 sal - compared 소 -, sil 실 -, ae 애 -, jak -un 작은 -, k'un 큰 - so rae 도래 - ', we divided into two types: in combination with noun and in combination with both noun and verb. Thereby, we summarized and evaluated the possibility of the word creation of prefixes. Based on the statistical methods, we have listed the prefixes which have capability of making up 6 - 167 new derivative nouns; Based on the analytical methods of extension meanings, we have listed the prefixes which have up to 10 meanings. Finally, in this paper, through analyzing examples, we summarized 8 characteristics of prefix associated with nouns in Korean.
