Abstract: ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to examining the English-Vietnamese translations used for two different linguistic phenomena (proper names and personal pronouns) found in Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wayne Jones. The study goes into analyzing the way how two translators – Dang Kim Tram and Mit Hong Dao (mhd) – fulfilling the task of choosing Vietnamese equivalences for the objects mentioned. After the research is done, determinants of finding equivalences are revealed. At its best, the research wishes to be a helpful material for students majoring translating and interpreting at Faculty of English Teacher Education, University of Language and International Studies to find a reasonable approach when dealing with literary texts.
